Abhiroop Lal
Abhiroop has seventeen years experience in financial services across trading, structuring and sales.
Prior to founding Acuvera, Abhiroop worked for Deutsche bank. His most recent role was in sales, where he focused on providing debt financing and investment solutions to funds, asset managers, family offices and private banks. Previously, as a senior structurer and trader, Abhiroop worked on a variety of transactions across different types of debt instruments. These included both vanilla and bespoke bonds, direct loans and debt repackaging. Abhiroop was instrumental to the bank’s risk reduction during and following the financial crisis of 2008. He has a strong grasp of risk management and hedging instruments such as options and derivatives.
Abhiroop is experienced in carrying trades from inception to execution: including marketing, price negotiations, risk analysis, documentation and syndication. He has variously dealt with regulators, rating agencies, legal counsel, and tax, accounting and regulatory functions.
Abhiroop holds an Master of Arts in mathematics from Trinity College, Cambridge University, UK. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.
